Arsenal stars’ unseen ‘relatives’
A nice tongue-in-cheek video featuring the previously unseen ‘relatives’ of three Arsenal footballers has been released.
The mockumentary, ‘Face to Face with the Arsenal family‘, was produced in conjunction with Europcar, the London clubs’ official car and van rental partner. Footage features ‘Champion baker’ Trudy Mertesacker, Uncle Kenny Wilshere and Darren Oxlade-Chamberlain.
England pair Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were joined by Germany defender Per Mertesacker for starring roles in the film as they discussed their make-believe relatives.
The light-hearted film aims to bring fans closer to their heroes while raising awareness of Europcar?s partnership with the club, which was announced at the start of the season.

In addition to starring in the mockumentary, the players had input into the scripts and storyboards.
“I enjoyed the chance to do a bit of acting in the video,” Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain said. “I did drama at school and had to drop acting for football so quite enjoyed the chance to relive my past.”
Joking about which of the three players was the most natural actor, Per Mertesacker said: “Oh that would be me, for sure. I?ve done a bit of acting before but this video was something different, involved more expression and I felt comfortable and enjoyed the experience.”
The relatives? characters are played by actors Grant Davis (Kenny Wilshere), Lillian Schiffer (Trudy Mertesacker) and Ewen MacIntosh (Darren Oxlade-Chamberlain).
